Essential Points of Philippines Medical Colleges recognized by NMC

Essential Points to be noted by the students willing to take Admission in Philippines Medical Colleges approved and recognized by NMC:

These rules apply also to the Top 10 NMC approved Medical Colleges in Philippines or of any grade.

  • MBBS Course is known as MD. This degree is the same as MBBS in India. It is not a Post Graduation degree.
  • MBBS course in all these NMC approved colleges in Philippines is minimum of Six years.
  • Students will not get admission direct to the MBBS course (MD) in the Philippines.
  • Initial admission will be to 2-Years's BS course (Bachelor of Science)
  • After completion of the BS course, all students must clear the NMAT exam in the Philippines.
  • After clearing NMAT, a student will get admission to the four years MD course, which is equivalent to MBBS in India.
  • The internship done in the Philippines during this 4-Years MD course is not valid in India.
  • So, students will have to do a 1-Year compulsory Internship in any Indian medical college again.
  • Internship in India can be done only after clearing the MCI Screening Test or NEXT Test, whichever applicable at that time.
