Multidisciplinary Clinic (1st Clinic) of SamMU
About the Clinic
The Multidisciplinary Clinic (1st Clinic) of SamMU stands as one of Central Asia's initial large, multidisciplinary hospitals, with construction initiated in 1926. Originally named the "Republican Hospital," it became affiliated with the Uzbek State Medical Institute in 1930, acquiring the status of a clinic. As the primary educational and scientific-treatment base for Samarkand State Medical University, the clinic has continually evolved. The restructuring included modernization, major repairs, and the incorporation of over 300 advanced medical devices from around the world.
Academic Contribution
The clinic houses 17 clinical departments, engaging 14 medical sciences professors, 46 associate professors, and 58 doctors of higher category. It has been a hub for groundbreaking discoveries in clinical and experimental medicine, leading to the defense of approximately 500 doctoral and candidate theses (DSc, PhD).
Healthcare Reach
Today, the Multidisciplinary Clinic serves as a modern medical and diagnostic center, offering highly skilled specialized aid to over 19,000 in-patients and 100,000 out-patients annually. With a commitment to quality healthcare, it conducts 3,000-3,500 births, over 6,000 surgical interventions, and more than 500,000 laboratory tests. The clinic has undergone name changes, but its unwavering purpose as the university's primary teaching and research-treatment base persists.
Purpose and Objectives
Referral and Admission Procedures
Patients must have a referral issued by regional health departments or medical associations. Privileged contingent patients receive a warrant for inpatient preferential treatment. In the absence of a referral, patients can seek consultation at the clinic's Consultative Polyclinic.

Yes of course Very good University but the hostel is not good enough. Sundays and Saturdays they do not give breakfasts even they do not give tea atleast. Day starts with lunch only on Saturdays and Sundays. If the concerned management rectifies, it will be one of the best institutions in the central Asia.
